Our 2020 fundraising round-up
December 2020: We are extremely grateful to everyone who fundraised for us this year.
Thank you to everyone who has fundraised for MND Research during 2020 in what has been a very tough year for everyone. What is has done is spark some great fundraising creativity.
Rebecca donated the money she’s saved by not having to commute to the office his year as she has been working from home. Jenna usually takes part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival Hairy Haggis Relay Race. Even though it couldn’t go ahead this year, Jenna and team completed the challenge under their own steam to help fund MND research.
Angela, owner of Bloom Room Florist, Bathgate, donated £5 from every special bouquet during August. Angie’s fundriasing was in honour of her brother Tam who sadly died from MND earlier this year.
Colleagues in the Department for Work and Pensions Change Department Team took on a step challenge in aid of the Centre. Nine weeks of hard stepping equated to 17 million steps in total - the equivalent of 8500 miles!
Martha and Maggie kindly organised a pop-up shop again this year, in memory of Bill. Methil has a pop up shop that can be hired by the week for charitable use and this seemed to be a great way to raise awareness as well as money.
Finally photographers at the Dundee Photographic Society held a month long collection in aid of the Centre and raised over £700.
To all our awesome fundraisers – thank you so much for your amazing support. We hope you enjoyed fundraising and feel deservedly proud of what you have achieved. As well as supporting vital research, you have also helped raise awareness of the Euan MacDonald Centre.
If you are planning to set yourself a challenge in 2021 and would like to know more about fundraising, please contact our Fundraiser Kerry Mackay, and she’ll be delighted to help.
