Thank you to our 2022 fundraisers!

Thank you to all our 2022 fundraisers for supporting the Euan MacDonald Centre

Dec 2022: As we near the end of the year, we want to acknowledge and celebrate all of the wonderful supporters who have raised money this year to further our vital MND research.

Thank you so much for everything you have done - we are extremely grateful to you, and your friends and family who have donated in response to your fundraising efforts.

To everyone who has fundraised, and everyone who has supported a fundraising challenge or activity, we give our sincere thanks. Together in 2022, you have raised £50,000 in aid of our research.

Here is a snap-shot of just some of our fantastic fundraisers. For more fundraising inspiration our Supporters Stories page has some helpful hints and tips for you.

MND24

After last year's successful 12-hour cycle challenge, MND24 founder Sandy Stirling doubled his efforts this year and completed a 24-hour cycle challenge around the Al Qudra desert in Dubai in memory of his dad, Alex. Sandy is already back in the saddle, having confirmed he will complete another 24-hour challenge in March 2023, as part of MND24.

Alexandre, Alfonso, Christine, Hannah, Hanne, Helen, James, Javier, Jyoti, Lucas, Niccolo, Pam, Sara-Jane, Sebastian, Tanya, Theo and Thom also took part in MND24. Between them, they walked, cycled, swam, baked and crafted - well done everyone and huge thanks.

The Ballater Charitable Chiels

The Chiels organised and hosted their annual Texas Scramble and have supported the Euan MacDonald Centre through this fantastic golfing event for over a decade.

Scotland's Garden Scheme & Bloom Room

Grace continues to support us through Scotland's Garden Scheme by opening her garden for a donation to the Euan MacDonald Centre as part of Scotland's Garden Scheme.

Every year Angela, owner of Bathgate florists Bloom Room, donates £5 from every 'Euan MacDonald Centre' bouquet sold in memory of her brother Thomas.

Raffles and greeting cards

Jen creates and sells lovely greeting cards, donating a percentage from each card bought in memory of her husband David. Sharon got busy organising a raffle in memory of her brother Thomas.

Running and cycling

Philip ran 1,000km throughout the year. Bryan, Eddie, John, Neil and Ryan all completed a half marathon in this year's Great Scottish Run.

Pop-up shops and coffee, cake and crafting

Maggie and Martha hosted a pop-up shop in Methil for the fourth year running in loving memory of Maggie's partner, Bill. Thanks to their friends and family's donations of items and goods, they had a great selection to sell and raise funds. Mary hosted a day of coffee, cake and crafting in loving memory of her husband.

Remembering a loved one

We would also like to give our sincere thanks to everyone who has donated to our work through celebration of life or funeral collections.

Thank you

Our thanks once again to our wonderful supporters for raising £50,000 in just one year. We really appreciate everything you do and feel privileged you choose to support Euan MacDonald Research. Thank you for all you do.
