University students raise almost £3000 for MND research

EUSA President Holding a cheque

Apr 2019: Eleri Connick, President of Edinburgh University Students Association (EUSA), presented a cheque to the Centre from their fundraising for MND research.

The funds were raised at the 'We Are Edinburgh' End of Semester takeover in McEwan Hall.  £2902.91 was the fabulous final total raised,

In October, following a student led motion to the University's Student Council, George Square Lecture Theatre was renamed to the ‘Gordon Aikman Lecture Theatre’ in loving memory of former sabbatical officer Gordon Aikman who raised £500,000 to further MND research. Sadly, Gordon died aged just 31 years old due to MND.

Following the opening of the Gordon Aikman Lecture Theatre, EUSA's Vice President, Georgie Harris, and President, Eleri Connick, visited the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic and Euan MacDonald Centre for MND Research and decided to raise funds for MND research at University.

We're very grateful for the support of EUSA and students across The University of Edinburgh.
