Grace Durham

Grace took part in Scotland's Gardens Scheme to raise money in aid of the Euan MacDonald Centre.

Method of fundraising

Scotland's Garden Scheme

Why did you decide to fundraise?

My sister died of MS so neurological diseases have always held a special place in my heart. I know the MacDonald family, having taught Euan’s older brother, and admire Euan enormously for what he has done to promote research into this dreadful neurological disease.

How did you raise the money?

One the 24th April and 19th June my neighbourhood opened two of our gardens under Scotland’s Garden Scheme and served home baking, tea and coffee. We shall open again in December. These three openings are extraordinary as it is our Bicentenary year.

Fundraising wisdom:

Promote and advertise your opening and fundraising as widely as possible.
